PH | Sarangani industrial ecozone land area is increased by palace order | MANILA – The Kamanga Agro-Industrial Economic Zone (KAiEZ) in Maasim, Sarangani province, has expanded its geographic scope thanks to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
In accordance with Proclamation 330, which was issued on Tuesday and disseminated by the Presidential Communications Office on Friday, a total area of land of more or less 370,705 square metres in Barangay Kamanga would henceforth be a component of KAiEZ.
The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Board of Directors’ suggestions for the inclusion of land parcels in the current KAiEZ were approved.
Republic Act (RA) 7916, generally known as the Special Economic Zone Act of 1995, as revised by RA 8748, was also in compliance with the most recent action.
By virtue of Proclamation 134, which was issued in March 2011, the KAiEZ was established. It used to span an area of roughly 546,013 square metres.
A number of businesses producing investments of PHP42 billion are housed in KAiEZ.
In a recent business event, Tereso Panga, director general of PEZA, stated that he is “optimistic that more ecozones will be created in our provinces, like Sarangani, and we’ll see an influx of various industries coming into our regions.”
Since Marcos gave the creation of economic zones strategic importance, PEZA has stepped up its efforts to promote business and investment prospects, particularly in rural areas, and persuade foreign investors to operate in the nation’s economic zones. (via PNA)
